An incredibly tough, compact shrub. Its standout feature is its changing foliage, turning brilliant shades of red, apricot, and burgundy as the weather cools.
Light: Full sun to part shade. Tip: The more sun it gets, the more vibrant its red winter color will be.
Soil: Very adaptable. It prefers moist, well-draining soil but tolerates poor or sandy soils remarkably well.
Watering: Moderate water needs. Once its root system is established, it is highly drought-tolerant, but appreciates a drink during extended dry spells.
Pruning: Barely needs any. It naturally holds a neat, dense, rounded shape. Just trim off any stray stems in late winter if desired.
