Light: Prefers full sun to part shade. In hot climates, morning sun with some afternoon protection is ideal to prevent the glossy leaves from scorching.
Soil: Crucial step. They require acidic, organic-rich, and well-draining soil. If your soil is alkaline or heavy clay, they will struggle and the leaves will turn yellow.
Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. Water deeply once or twice a week depending on the weather.
Feeding: Feed with a specific acid-loving plant food (like a Camellia/Azalea/Gardenia fertilizer) in spring and summer to fuel the flower production.
